Puno – May 27 to June 1st
For the next few days we would head over to Puno and visit the area around Lake Titicaca on the border between Peru and Bolivia. Lake Titicaca is the highest navigational lake in the world (that simply means that there are actually boats traveling to towns and destinations along the lake).
Probably the most interesting thing about the lake are the Uros communities that live on small man-made floating islands. The native Uros people make the islands by strapping together reeds that grow in the lake. They have entire villages that live solely off these islands. We had a fun day kayaking and visiting the villages.
